The Opportunity

Revolution Brewing, the largest independently owned brewery in Illinois, set out to expand its production capabilities while maintaining a strong connection to its local roots. The goal was to create a facility that could support high-volume brewing operations alongside a public-facing tasting room, with the flexibility to grow over time.

How We Delivered

Helios led preconstruction and construction for a new 60,000-square-foot production brewery and tasting room, anchored by a 45 BBL brewhouse and integrated within an existing building. The work required significant coordination to install new structural foundations and slabs, along with extensive below- and above-slab MEP systems designed to support the brewing process.

As production needs increased, the facility expanded through multiple phases, including the addition of a 120 BBL brewhouse and significant fermentation capacity. Each phase required careful integration with active operations, with work sequenced to maintain continuity of production while new systems and equipment were brought online.

BIM was used to align trades and coordinate complex infrastructure, ensuring each expansion tied seamlessly into the existing facility.

What Was Built

Today, the facility spans more than 120,000 square feet and supports both large-scale production and public engagement. Key features include a structural concrete cone room, fermentation tanks ranging from 20 to 800 BBL, and a full canning line.

The tasting room connects visitors directly to the brewing process, creating a space that reflects both the scale of operations and the brand itself. Across each phase, the work was designed to build on the existing structure, resulting in a facility that continues to perform and evolve alongside the business.
